Anaven manufactures monochloroacetic acid (MCA) using chlorine and hydrogen manufactured by Atul to produce up to 32,000 tons of MCA per year, with the possibility of expanding to 60,000 tons in the future. A 50:50 joint venture between Atul and Nouryon, Anaven supplies a portion of the MCA to Atul for its crop protection production and the balance to Nouryon to be supplied to the domestic and export markets. Anaven uses the state-of-the-art eco-friendly hydrogenation technology and employs the latest innovations for low energy consumption. The Anaven MCA plant is the only zero liquid discharge production site in the world, adding value to the country’s sustainability agenda.
