Anaven is a 50-50 joint venture between Nouryon Chemicals International BV (Nouryon) and Atul Ltd (Atul). This partnership was established to manufacture monochloroacetic acid (MCA) using advanced, low energy technology of Nouryon and the infrastructure of Atul. Previously, Nouryon served customers of MCA in India by importing the product. Two of the main inputs, chlorine and hydrogen, are supplied by Atul. Atul is also the largest consumer of MCA in India. Thus, this project aligns well with the strategies of Nouryon and Atul. Anaven commissioned the first phase of this zero liquid discharge project (32,000 MT) in 2021 and will steadily increase its capacity to service customers within India and as required, outside.
